Act of Union 1707
1707联合法案
来源:教材第16页
After the death of William and Mary's heir Queen Anne, uncertainty over the succession in Scotland and the rest of Britain led to the Act of Union of 1707 (called the Treaty of Union in Scotland). This united the Kingdoms of England and Scotland into the Kingdom of Great Britain. Scotland kept its own legal system, education system and Presbyterian Church. In 1714, Parliament chose German George I (Anne's nearest Protestant relative) as king, beginning the Hanoverian dynasty.
