Devolved Governments

Devolution means transferring powers from Westminster to regional governments:
• Scottish Parliament (Holyrood, Edinburgh) — has tax-varying powers
• Senedd (formerly Welsh Assembly, Cardiff) — fewer powers than Scotland
• Northern Ireland Assembly (Stormont, Belfast) — based on power-sharing
Devolved matters include: health, education, environment, transport
Reserved matters (Westminster only): defence, foreign affairs, immigration, taxation (some), social security
