The Beatles and British Music

The Beatles were a rock band from Liverpool who became the most commercially successful group in history. Members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr. They led the 'British Invasion' of American music in the 1960s. Other notable British musicians include: The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Elton John, Queen, Amy Winehouse, Adele. The Proms (BBC Promenade Concerts) are held annually at the Royal Albert Hall. The Last Night of the Proms is especially popular.
