Equality and Anti-Discrimination

Source: Handbook p.7

The UK has strong laws against discrimination. The Equality Act 2010 protects people from discrimination based on nine protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. Everyone has the right to be treated fairly regardless of these characteristics.
