Cartea Domesday (1086)
Sursă: Manual p.19
The Domesday Book was a comprehensive survey of land and property in England, ordered by William the Conqueror in 1086. It recorded who owned every piece of land, how much it was worth, and how many people and animals lived on it. Its purpose was to determine how much tax the king could collect. The Domesday Book is still kept today and is one of the most important historical documents in England.
