Jury Service Duty

Obligația de a face parte dintr-un juriu

Sursă: Manual p.93

As well as getting the right to vote, people on the electoral register are randomly selected to serve on a jury. Anyone aged 18 to 70 on the electoral register can be asked to do jury service. Serving on a jury is a civic duty. The jury listens to the evidence and decides a verdict. A person can only be excused for good reason (like ill health) or if they are ineligible (like having a criminal conviction). Jury service is one of the important responsibilities of being on the electoral register.
