The Proms and The Beatles

The Proms is an eight-week summer season of orchestral classical music organised by the BBC since 1927, mainly at the Royal Albert Hall. The Last Night of the Proms is broadcast live on TV. British pop music has made a major global impact since the 1960s. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are iconic bands. Britain has also contributed to punk (late 1970s) and 1990s boy and girl bands. Major festivals include Glastonbury, Isle of Wight Festival and V Festival.
