The campaign for women's right to vote:
• Suffragists campaigned peacefully for women's suffrage
• Suffragettes, led by Emmeline Pankhurst, used more militant tactics
• 1918: Women over 30 gained the right to vote (Representation of the People Act)
• 1928: Equal Franchise Act gave all women over 21 the vote, same as men
• 1969: Voting age lowered to 18 for both men and women
