Voting Eligibility

Source: Handbook p.88

The UK has had fully democratic voting since 1928. The voting age was reduced to 18 in 1969. Adult UK citizens and Commonwealth/Irish citizens resident in the UK can vote in all public elections. In Northern Ireland, individual registration is required.
