Henry VIII married six times: Catherine of Aragon (Spanish, divorced, mother of Mary I); Anne Boleyn (English, executed, mother of Elizabeth I); Jane Seymour (gave him his son Edward VI, died shortly after); Anne of Cleves (German, divorced); Catherine Howard (cousin of Anne Boleyn, executed); Catherine Parr (widow, survived Henry). A common mnemonic for their fates: 'divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived'.
