The Napoleonic Wars

Britain fought against Napoleon's France in the early 19th century. Two key battles:
• Battle of Trafalgar (1805) — Admiral Nelson defeated the French and Spanish fleets but was killed during the battle. Trafalgar Square in London commemorates this victory.
• Battle of Waterloo (1815) — The Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, ending the Napoleonic Wars. Wellington later became Prime Minister.
